Recognizing the Importance of Perseverance in Advocacy – June Newsletter

Our organization’s tenacity is a great strength. We never give up, whether it’s in our work with clients and families or our social justice endeavors. After over a decade of fighting, Assisted Outpatient Treatment legislation was finally signed into law in Maryland on May 15th. This gives us hope that broken systems can be changed, but there is still more work to be done.

We must remain vigilant in our social justice efforts, as other injustices persist. Pride Month and Juneteenth are occasions to celebrate, but we also recognize that equal rights for marginalized populations are still lacking. Complex problems require seeking help from experts outside our own expertise, which is why we established our Advisory Council two years ago. Our talented team of experts from diverse backgrounds champion our success. You can read all about it this month’s newsletter!
